(b. 1993) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Alghesheyan is a multimedia artist. She began making short films while pursuing her BA in Media and Film at the University of San Francisco (2019). She received an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University (2024). Alghesheyan has been awarded scholarships from the Higher Education Ministry (2014) and the Culture Ministry (2022) of Saudi Arabia, as well as a residency at the Misk Art Institute in Berlin (2023). Her works intricately explore voice, memory, and narrative themes, drawing inspiration from personal stories. She is also co-instructor of ART of the MOOC: Colors and Power, a collaborative lecture series, produced by Duke University, Creative Time NY, University of the Arts Berlin, and the Mellon Foundation.
